Toby, Eric, Albie and Chrissy stand at a tear in the fence that blocks off a highway. The three boys climb through and get ready to cross the highway. Chrissy says it's not safe and she walks away, telling Albie to message her when he gets home.
It's an extra mile to go around and the boys aren't interested in the extra walking. They have practiced crossing the road and know when they have 10 seconds to cross, which is more than enough time.
Toby tells them when to go and he and Eric run to the median safely. Albie hesitates and stays on the side of the road. Toby calls Albie a chicken for not running. Albie starts to run but Eric warns him back. A car nearly hits Albie.
Toby easily crosses the other side of the highway. Eric waits in the median for Albie. Eric tells Albie to run and he does. He gets off to a slow start and has to dive into the median to avoid getting hit. Eric helps him up and they catch up to Toby.
Headed down Oak Street and they come across a Big-Ass Skeleton. Albie is it wary of it and wants to avoid it. Toby and Eric laugh at him for it. They pressure him into walking past it.
As they walk past the skeleton, it turns to look at Albie. He screams and runs home.
Albie screams. He takes off running. He goes to the end of the block and turns left
Albie runs down Maple Street and arrives home. He texts Chrissy to tell her he's home safe. She said she's home, too, and will see him tomorrow. He goes inside.
Albie eats dinner with his parents, Julie and Greg. Greg asks Albie what he learned about at school. Albie says the three branches of government. His parents quiz him on the topic. They also admonish him for things like using his phone at the table and not to talk with his mouth full. Albie hurries to finish dinner so he can get to a text from Chrissy.
After dinner, Albie goes to his room. Chrissy texted to tell him that Eric is missing. Albie and Toby were the last to see Eric alive.
Toby tries to meet Albie to walk to school, but Greg tells Toby Albie's already gone. Albie watches Toby leave before himself departing for school.
Albie walks down Oak Street, wary of the skeleton. He remembers Toby and Eric making fun of him. He gathers his courage and walks past it, eyes averted.
He makes it to the end of the block and turns to see the skeleton chase him. Albie screams and runs. He cuts across lawns and to a park trying to escape.
At the park, he hides in a concrete tunnel until the skeleton goes past.
Once it's safe, Albie runs to school.
That afternoon, Toby, Albie and Chrissy stand at the fence. Once again, Chrissy doesn't want to go and leaves. Toby tries to guilt Chrissy into going, but she declines. She tells Albie to be safe.
Toby crosses to the median. Albie hesitates and doesn't go. He tries again a few seconds later, when he thinks its safe. He makes it, then they cross the other side of the highway.
Chrissy texts Albie to apologize for not going with them.
Toby and Albie walk down Oak street, but don't see the skeleton. It steps from between the houses and bites Toby in half.
Albie runs back towards the highway. The skeleton chases him. Albie climbs through the fence and moves to the edge of the highway. The Skeleton smashes its way through the fence.
Albie counts to four and then runs to the median. He almost makes it to the median safely, but a car clips his foot, spinning him around and knocking him down.
The skeleton follows and gets smashed to bits by a semi.
Albie cheers and limps home. He sees other giant skeletons around the city.
Albie turns onto Maple Street and sees a different skeleton attacking his neighbors. He sneaks towards his house while the neighbors are killed.
He runs across the last gap between houses and the skeleton chases him.
Albie trips and bloodies his knee, but he makes it inside before the skeleton catches him.
Inside, his parents ask him what's wrong, noting his bleeding. He tells them to turn the TV on.
The news anchor says the skeleton attacks are everywhere.
The skeleton breaks down the front door.
